Can a custom field in a template be set as required

Can a custom field added to a template be set to be required? I know that enterprise fields can be
set as required fields, but I am unable to locate how to set a custom field in a template as a required
field

If an enterprise custom field is marked as required in the Enterprise
Global, it will be a required field in the template as well. There is no
way of which I am aware, however, to mark an enterprise custom field not
required and then make it required only in the template. Sorry.

Custom fields cannot be set as required fields, as compared to enterprise
custom fields, which can be required. Given this fact, perhaps your
organization should make this a training/performance issue with all project
managers. If they need to enter data in the custom task fields, they should
be taught how to do it and then be held accountable for actually doing it.
