Can a single cell be protected in Excel 2003?

This question concerns a time-sheet application. I created several
time-sheet templates for a client. She called and wants to protect certain
cells from being overwritten when entering information. She's using a newer
version of Excel than I created the time-sheets in, so I don't know the
answer to her question.

Thank you,
Barbara Harrison

Each cell has a locked property. If the sheet is protected and the cell is
locked, then the cell is protected. (format=>Cells=>Protection tab). If the
cell is unlocked, then the cells is not protected. This basic functionality
has not changed in any of the versions of Excel. In xl2002 and later, some
additional functionality has been added to allow greater
flexibility/granularity, but this can largely be ignored if not needed.
