Can access PWA locally, but not across network

Hi,

Apologies in advance for such a newbie question, but have not been able to
find an answer on my own.

I have Project Server and PWA set up and working when logged on to the
Server PC locally, but cannot get PWA to come up from remote PC on the
company network. Server appears registered on the domain and can be seen on
the network from the remote PC. I get the typical browser timeout from the
remote PC.

Any ideas?

It would help if you could post an error message. Check the logs on the
server as well.

Hi,

The remote PC just displays the typical page when a site times out. It says
it cannot find the server or there has been a DNS error.

The only thing I have found on the server is a mention that my Windows
Server PC appears to be trying to act as a master browser on the subnet
(which I do not want it to be). Here is the error: The master browser has
received a server announcement from the computer JARS-DESKTOP that believes
that it is the master browser for the domain on transport
NetBT_Tcpip_{F4E2CB71-E339-4. The master browser is stopping or an election
is being forced.

One other item of note is that this is a single server installation (only
going to have 20 users for this phase) so all applications (Windows Server,
IIS, Sharepoint, Project Server) are all installed on a single PC.

The only other thing I could find is that I'm not sure the server pc is
connecting to the active directory. When I check and try to connect to the
domain (visible in the pull down list from the company network), it fails
saying the logon attempt was invalid.

I suspect my problem is related to getting the server pc to connect properly
to the company network, but am not completely sure. When I logon locally, I
can access the PWA sites, download/upload project files and everything is
working fine.

Thanks Gary!

Tommy:

You can always try rejoining the domain if you think this may be the cause.
Troubleshooting network connectivity problems in newsgroup posts is no easy
task.
