And with an attitude like you have, no one will answer even if they have the
answer. 15 minutes with a complaint from the earlier post today and that
also makes people not want to answer. No one works here, we are not
Microsoft employees and most don't have a connection to MS other than we use
their programs, we are all volunteers that answer questions as we can as our
time permits.

You got a question asked back on the 28th but you didn't give an answer to
that question from DL that he asked on the 28th. He wanted to know what the
file extension association was listed as. You posted today "The extension
for doc files is as norman i.e .doc" and this means absolutely nothing to
us.

Now, had you posted the information back on the 28th I'm sure DL would have
answered on the 28th with another question from the response you gave today.

Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, Default Programs, Associate a file
type or protocol with a program. Scroll down to .doc and if Microsoft
Office Word is not the current default you need to click on the extension
and then click Change program and set it to MS Word.

If that doesn't fix your issue, post back. If it does let us know also.

The bottom line is that anything you can do to make your questions faster
and easier to read will improve the chances that someone will answer them.
Most people have difficulty reading lots of all uppercase text. And, for
those of us with lots of computer experience, all uppercase text is
especially difficult. I do not know why, exactly, but I have a feeling that
it's a function of the way we're used to processing information.

MVPs are not paid to be here. We're here because we enjoy technical
challenges and like to help when we can. But, parsing all-uppercase postings
is not a technical challenge--it's a visual challenge. It's also rough on
the BP, since uppercase is considered SHOUTING. The preferred "language" of
nntp is mixed case. Uppercase is an unfamiliar dialect that is hard for many
of us to read. If you need directions in Alabama and demand help in a heavy
Boston accent, don't be surprised if people don't understand what you're
saying or assume that you're having a religious experience and are speaking
in tongues.

But, the bottom line is that if you want help, make it easy for potential
helpers to understand your question.

Listen man...... if you read the original post you would have seen that I
have done this already....
Don't LECTURE me on replying to posts, and shove your stupid answer.......

Ok, thank you.
I am not a PC expert and I didn't know that uppercase was a problem.
As for parsing, BP, and nntp I have'nt a clue what these terms mean.
I am afraid I didn't go to school much and when I got a short, seemingly
snotty answer from one of the MVP's I lost it with him, much the same as I
would have, had we been face to face and he spoke to me in such an obseqious
manner.
I apoligise if any of my posts have offended anyone, however I omit the
original MVP who replied (can't remember his name) from my apology, as I did
mean to offend that individual ,just as I felt he had offended me.
Thank you again for your time and your explaination.
Appreciated.
