Can BCM sync with cell phones that sync with regular Outlook?

I think I misread the promotions for the BCM update. I thought the new
version of enabled syncing with a cell phone like the regular Outlook but it
appears that this only applies to Pocket PCs. Is my understanding correct?

Tim,

The current version 2 of BCM includes a free download app add-in that enable
you to synch your BCM Business Contacts folder into a separate folder on your
Pocket PC from the native Outlook Contacts. Be aware though that the latest
Windows Mobile 5.0 that is available with the newest Pocket PC's is currently
not compatible with BCM. There are some 3rd party developers that have multi
folder synch functionality that will work with in a similiar manner for Palm
OS and also Pocket PC. Check out www.chapura.com for details. Hope this
info helps.

Thanks for responding. I probably should've added that my reason for posting
was because this means it's still impossible to sync BCM contacts with a cell
phone. Numerous cell phones can sync with Outlook using programs that come
with them or XTNDConnect. Now, with BCM2, any contacts moved to BCM are lost
to the cell phone. That's a real compromise and I can see why people would
stick with ACT! or Goldmine, which have always been able to sync with cell
phones.

Have you found a solution for syncing your BCM to a cellular? I've had the
same experience as you. I have a T-Mobil Dash and it will sync to Outlooc
Contacts but, as you say, the BCM contacts are not sen.

Any help appreciated.

Idavidp,

This original post is almost 1.5 years old. Since then MS has released a
free BCM synch application for Windows mobile smart devices. There are 2
versions. 1 version is for your WM device WITHOUT a touchscreen which is now
called Windows Mobile Standard. This free download can be found here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...e8f9-41f3-ae66-a7067dac7ace&displaylang=en&tm

The other version is for your WM device WITH a touchscreen which is now
called Windows Mobile Professional. This free download can be found here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...14-7143-41D9-84A9-BD628DB7B6A0&displaylang=en

If you are still using an earlier (touchscreen only) version of Windows
Mobile 2003 that came out prior to WM 5.0 or 6.0, the free download is here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...18-C310-4599-81D1-558CF385ED88&displaylang=en

Some third party synch solutions can be found at www.chapura.com or also at
www.companionlink.com. These 3rd party options also include support for some
non WM devices such as Palm OS or Blackberry, etc.

Best regards,
