Can Calendar/Outlook countdown the number of days left in year?

I'd like the calendar to display how many days are left until 12/31/2006 for
planning purposes. Is this possible? If so, how?

I did further search and found this response from Diane Poremsky; the answer
is closer to yes than no:

you can also create the appointments in excel and import them into outlook.
