Can files created in Office 2003 be opened in Office 95

I'm working in Office 2003 at school. I cannot open these files on my home
computer (Office 95). I get a message:file format is not valid. I've tried
read only, rename file.

Office 95 uses a different file format than Office 2003.

If it is a Word document then this converter may help:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...55-09AF-4CD1-8A18-583B0C31FF9B&displaylang=EN

Note the file format is the same for Word 97 - 2003.

If it doesn't work then you'll need to save your Office 2003 files in
the earlier file format (Save As type in the Save As dialog box) in
order to open them in Office 95.

I downloaded the converter, but it did not help. BTW... I appreciate the
help. I've been looking for a way to resolve this problem. The school
instructor wasn't much help.

Once you've installed the converter in Word 95 turn on the
[x] Confirm Conversions on Open
setting in Tools=>Options=>General in Word
and then use File=>Open to see if it recognizes the Word 2003 file at that point.
