can find mail merge as an option in the word2000

Help - has anyone any ideas why I cannot find mailmerge
as an option on a word2000 installation that worked
perfectly well on my previous machine?

I am quite bewildered having used it for years until now
with a new centrino samsung laptop!

Help please
