can I burn a powerpoint slide show to a CD to play on DVD player

Is there a feature with PowerPoint 2002 that will allow me
to burn a slide show onto a CD-R so I can play it on a DVD
player connected to a TV?

There is no such native function. You would need to capture your
presentation as a video file. See the following:
