Can I Buy Used Microsoft Software?

P

Phriend

Someone is selling a used version of PowerPoint 2003 on Ebay. It is listed
as being in "used" condition -- but the seller says that the product key is
unused.

What do I need to be sure of when purchasing used Microsoft software through
sites like Ebay? (I obviously don't want to purchase a program that isn't
going to function).

When buying "used" software, you will need to know the seller's reputation.
Usually, it is a very bad idea to buy anything not new when dealing with
software, so you will need to be very sure.

Pirated versions of MS products are sold all the time, so again, you need to
be very sure because MS will not support a copy of their product or one
who's id number has already been filed as in use.

You may want to look at the number of sales and the buyers comments from the
eBay site for this seller. Just know that you will be going into this and
may get either a barging, or toss your money down the drain.

Personally, I wouldn't trust anyone I did not know personally that much, but
you will need to make that decision yourself.
