Can I change an envelope merge into a label merge?

Schmyerlou

The subject line is deceptive....... I asked someone to send me a set of
labels with a specific set of addresses on them. She did not have the
spreadsheet or table with the list on them -- all she has is a word document
that is a continuous list of envelopes with the names and addresses on them.
I want to convert them to a set of labels. Can I do this without having the
information anywhere else? I could do it as a mail merge if a spreadsheet
existed. I just do not want to have to retype these (200) again if I don't
have to.

Thanks for your help!

What I would do:

Perform a find and replace on the NextPage Section Break. Replace the
break with some really obnoxious characters such as ~ ~ (Nothing that
you have as values in your text)
Replace all section breaks.

Copy your addresses into a new document, using the Paste Special and
select Unformatted text. I would then find and replace all new
paragraphs with tabs, and then finally replace all ~~ with new
paragraphs. At that point you can then easily use the Table convert
tool to convert it into a table, and from there, you are back on your
way with a mail merge source.

I know that this sounds hard, but in all actuality, it is pretty easy.
Work with your show / hide turned on so you can see all the hidden
characters and all should be well.
