can I change the default program to download email attachments?

Each time I try to download a document(xls,doc.,etc.) Microsoft Office
Picture Manager attempts to open the file(s). Can I change the program used
to dowload attachments from email(s)?

It sounds like your file associations are screwed up. That can be
fixed/checked.

May I suggest that instead of opening a file attachment, you save it first,
then open it? Too many people forget to save it in another location, edit
that file, and then save it never knowing it's just a temp file. We see a
lot of posts from people trying to find those files and can't.
