Can I control the sequence in which images load on a page?

I have a page (http://drbova.com/officephotos.htm) with a row of thumbnails
on the bottom and corresponding images that become visible with the
onmousover event. All of the images (including the thumbs) were edited in
photoshop to make them an appropriate size. The page works fine, but it's
clear that some of the hidden images are loading before the thumbs, which
makes the whole thing a lot less efficient than I would like. Is there any
way to get the thumbs to load before the hidden files?

I'm not using the photo gallery option because I don't like the layout.

Images will be requested from the server in the order they appear in the
HTML.
Move the thumbnails top the top of the page, and the large images below
the thumbnails.
The images are in drastic need of optimisation since the page takes
nearly a minute to load on a broadband connection - this page should be
nearer 5 seconds on my connection.

Take a look at the page in FireFox - there is a lot of work required,
especially with the menu.

FP only does what you tell it to. If you don't have the background
knowledge to know not to do certain things, FP won't prevent you from doing
them. Sorry....

That's not an obvious question. FP is just a tool, it can't read your mind,
you have to tell IT what to do. I have no problems at all with cross browser
support in FP.
What good is your car if it can't take you anywhere? You have to have the
knowledge to drive it, if you don't have that knowledge you'll likely end up
into a tree.

Just remember that preloading is like a trash compactor. It takes 25 pounds
of trash and turns it into 25 pounds of trash.

The reason someone is asking this question is that the page is image-heavy
already, otherwise the graphics would load and render so fast, nobody would
really notice. Preloading on an image-heavy page will not help AT ALL.

There is no true WYSIWYG web creation tool. I wish they never even thought
of using the term.

| That's true, but while I am not versed in HTML, I have been using PCs at a
| pretty high level since 1986. I'm used to working my way through cryptic
| help files and little programmatic idiosyncracies. Despite this, I'm
findinf
| FP to be a real pain in the butt. I bought Frontpage specifically because
it
| is advertised as a WYSIWYG tool for web site creation. It certainly is
not
| that.

Yeah. I always say that there will only be WYSIWYG when there is one
version of one browser in existence.

|I realize that loading will take as long as it takes, and that's fine. My

| only way to do that is to put them at the top of the page.
