Can I disable F1 starting the Help screens?

I use F2 (edit) all the time, but often hit F1 by mistake. I would love to
make F1 a dummy key -- nothing happens when you press it...

Private Sub Workbook_Open()
Application.OnKey "{F1}", ""
End Sub

pasted into your workbook's ThisWorkbook code module will disable the
F1 key.

I would put it in "this workbook" of the Personal workbook, since it sounds
like you want to use it for all your Excel work.
I found the place to save the Personal workbook by running the following
macro:

Public Sub ShowPaths()

MsgBox Application.StartupPath

End Sub
