Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Power PC In the Windows version the balloons display on the left and we need to recreated this on the Mac side. I don't see any option for this in the Track Changes prefs.

You can't change it on Windows either:

They will display where they fit: usually on the right.

You CAN change which side comments display in the Windows version of Word (both '03 and '07):

'07: Review "menu"/Track Changes/Change tracking options; left/right
'03: I forget, but you can choose left, right or bottom.

I don't see the same options in Office for Mac 2008. Perhaps there's something in formatting?

I sit corrected!!

I had to go and start two virtual machines to look this up: I had forgotten
that (I never use balloons, so it wasn't actually top of mind...)

Anyway, it's not there in Mac Word 2008. There's quite a bit missing in
Word 2008: that will be the least of your concerns :)

Cheers
