Can I download Office 97 for Windows 98 off the web?

T

Tony D

I recently had Windows 98 reinstalled on my machine and
now I need to reinstall Office 97. I don't have the
original installation CDs; however, I do have the Product
ID. Does anyone know if/where I can download the software?

Thanks.

No, you cannot legally download Office97. You may be able to get
replacement CDs from support.microsoft.com if you're able to provide proof
of ownership.

Eric, does Microsoft HAVE any Office 97 CDs? We were under the impression
that only Office 2000 and later were available, with Office 2000 becoming
scarce.

I'm afraid I don't actually have information on that-- sounds like you're
more in the loop on this issue than I am. :)
