can i download office for free if i have it as cdrom?

i can't find the cdrom, and need to install office on my new computer. can i
access a downloadable version at no cost, since I've paid for it and it's
registered?

Yes, you can download a trial version of Office 2007. But that won't solve
your particular problem so that is not really an option. You can contact MS
for replacement discs but you will need your product key. If you don't know
what it is, there are free utilities that will tell you (assuming you
installed it on your PC before you lost your discs). Magical Jelly Bean and
Belarc work great.
