Can I download symbols to be used in science write ups e.g. equil.

I am currently writing up a chemistry investigation and I have heard that
there is a download which contains the necessary symbols that I need e.g.
equilibrium arrows.

Does anyone know how to get them?

I was surprised to see that these characters don't seem to be available from
the Equation Editor, but the Wingdings 3 font, which should already be on
your computer, has a large selection of arrows, as does the Arrows character
subset of Arial Unicode MS, which probably includes other symbols you need
as well.

The Equation Editor that is included with MS Office doesn't have
arrows for equilibrium reactions, nor are they included in
Wingdings 3 or Arial Unicode MS. There are 6 reaction arrows
included in Equation Editor, but equilibrium isn't one of them.
The full-featured version of Equation Editor -- MathType -- has
27 reaction arrows, several equilibrium arrows being among the
27. More information at the link in my sig.
