Can I edit my homepage without the file used to publish it?

I boo-booed by deleting the file used to publish my home page. Is there a way
to edit the homepage without the file?. If not, would it work just to create
and publish a new homepage. Help.

Open your online web in FP (if your host supports the FP SE) and publish to you local pc
Or create a new home page and publish
