Yes, OST emails can be transferred to Gmail or Microsoft 365, although the exact method depends on whether the original Outlook profile is accessible. When Outlook can still open and synchronize the OST file, you may add the destination account to Outlook and move or copy emails between the mailboxes. Outlook will then upload the transferred messages to Gmail or Microsoft 365.

For Gmail, first enable access to the Gmail account in Outlook and add it using modern authentication. After both accounts appear in Outlook, create destination folders and copy the required emails from the OST-connected mailbox. For large mailboxes, transfer data in smaller batches to reduce synchronization errors and throttling.

For Microsoft 365, add the destination Microsoft 365 account to Outlook and move the required folders or messages into it. Organizations handling multiple mailboxes may instead use administrator-controlled migration or import methods.

If the OST file is orphaned, corrupt, or disconnected from its original account, it usually cannot be uploaded directly. You must first recover or convert the OST data to PST. Open the resulting PST in Outlook, connect the Gmail or Microsoft 365 account, and copy the recovered folders to the destination mailbox. Some professional OST converters also provide direct export options for Microsoft 365 or Gmail.

Before starting, create a backup of the OST file and confirm that the destination account has sufficient storage. After migration, compare email counts and check attachments, dates, contacts, calendars, and folders.

For business mailboxes, use trusted software and approved administrator credentials. Avoid unknown online converters, as uploading an OST file may expose confidential mailbox information.
