Can I find email text deleted by hitting wrong keys?

Is there a way of recovering chunks of text or whole emails which are
accidentally deleted whilst writing emails by inadvertently hitting a wrong
key. Suspect this a key nearALT or left of the space bar somewhere. Unlike
Word which has the UNDO button for this purpose Outlook does not appear to
have a function to reinstate the text. Any suggestions appreciated. Thank
you.

have you tried Ctrl+Z, the undo command?

Sue - this may sound ridiculous but no I haven't ! I was unaware that this
command acted as Undo. Having searched through Microsoft Help online and all
other issues relating to restoring "deleted" files, emails etc. in the forum
there didn't seem anything refering to deletions taking place in "open"
emails. THe weird thing is we still haven't figured why this happens - have
hit many keys in test emails since and can't make it disappear! It could even
be knocking the mouse. Will have to wait till it happens again before using
your tip. Is this the actual Outlook undo command? If so it would be useful
to have on the Help menu. Better still as an UNDO button as in Word as nobody
I know was aware of this!
Thank you so much

Ctrl+Z is the shortcut for undo in all Office programs.
