Can I get pictures to run across page breaks

I am a soil scientist I crop pictures of 3"Wide by 12" soil profiles and
Photomerge them in Adobe to 3" by 48" pictures I would like to place them
side by side and have them print across 2-3 8.5X11" portrait pages at 50% or
so of their real size so I can print them out and give them to my farmers in
the field with my lappy's printer I am using word 2003 sp2 from Microsoft
office proffesional just bought 2 weeks ago

Word cannot handle objects that span more than one page. You could perhaps
insert it as many times as necessary and crop the first one from the right,
the second one from both right and left and the third one from the left so
that you can enlarge them to the size that you want

After doin the try everything thing I discovered that Excel was perfectly
happy to run the pic's across pages
