can I get text to follow a wavy border - word 2003?

Using word 2003, on a pc, is there a way for me to have the text 'follow' a
wavy vertical page border - ie: the border graphic I am using undulates, and
I would like the text to follow the curves

I seem to remember being able to do it using a mac (though I can’t remember
how!), but wonder if I can do it on the pc?

What you might be looking for is the "Edit Wrap Points" feature.

1. Select your graphic.
2. Click on the Text Wraping button. A new menu appears.
3. Choose Edit Wrap Points.

You can now change where the text wraps - making it surround your graphic.

Hope this is what you were looking for.

Hi Bob ... I feel as if I am close - but not quite there!

Once I select the graphic, I don't see a Text Wrapping button. Does that
have something to do with 'format picture' or should I be using a text box
over the graphic or ....?

What I have is a rectangular graphic that I am using as a page border .. say
8x10 and I am typing over that.

Clearly I have missed something!

Is the "graphic" a picture of the wavyline or an actual shape with the
wavyline?
I think it could be a picture of a wavyline, hence not getting the option
for editpoints as Bob describes.

If you have a picture, you could trace the wavyline as best you can with the
Freeform drawing tool, lay this over the picture, remove the line colour,
then follow the following below.

If it is a shape, editing the points wont achieve the effect you are after.

The shape's layout need to be "Tight" to achieve the text following the line.

If you want this on every page, the image needs to anchored to the header as
described in http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/AnchorToHeader.htm
Remember, an image in or anchored to the header are always dimmed when
working in the document body and vice versa.

Hope this helps

Glad it worked for you.
But which did? :)
The drawing line option, Tight and/or AnchorToHeader?

oop's, sorry!

the drawing line option solved the 'problem' .. I used the curved line and
followed the curve of the of the wave inside the graphic as closely as I
could, set it to tight and the text took on a wavy border .. exactly what I'd
hoped for

thanks again
