Can I have a different formula in a subtotal column in Pivot Table

I am using formulas in Pivot Table. I have a number of 'monthly' columns,
then a subtotal column, then more 'monthly' columns, then another subtotal
column. I need to have the subtotal columns have a slightly different
calculation. Is there anyway I can separate out a formula to work only in a
subtotal column? I want to try to keep everything within my Pivot Table (ie
- calculations) as I need the versatility of the Table.
