can I have more than one mailbox opened at the same time, to see mine and my
manager at the same time without switching back and forth.

What version of Outlook? and do you have Exchange?
check Tools, Options Delegates

He can set you as a delegate
Then
in your outlook
File, Open, Other users Folder.
