Can I hide a Portion of a Power Point Axis?

Is it possible to hide a portion of an axis? When I have an outlier value,
(meaning I'm plotting 5 values between 1 and 10, and one value that may be
275) I would like to hide the portion of the axis that is 20 - 250, and then
show the outlier value at 275.

Thanks in advance.

Andy's posted an elegant way to do this.

I'll confess that I usually just draw in a couple of hash marks -- in other
words, I fake it. It's not elegant, but it works.

(I usually add a background-colored line between the hash marks to hide the
broken part of the axis -- if you do this, don't forget to set it to white
in B/W settings or you'll just have a big black blob there. And if you're
printing in B/W also don't fill the textbox that you add to cover the top
axis scale label. Instead, put a background-fill colored rectangle between
the textbox and the chart and set it to white in the B/W settings.)
