Can I install Office 2007 Standard on Three Systems?

Hi! I'm perplexed. I KNOW I read that I can use my Office 2007 on three
systems. I bought the download. I loaded it on my three and activated all
three with no problem. We bought another laptop, so I'd like to drop the
first one, and use Office on the new laptop; thereby still having it on three.

When I called to activate since online activation wouldn't work, the guy on
the other side of the earth told me it was only licensed on two.

I KNOW I've read that it's ok for three. Can anyone help?

Thanks!

OK...I think I found the right EULA...It said one computer and one "portable"
device.

If that's so, then how did I successfully activate it three times? Each
time was with the same info..through the internet. Nothing fishy.

If it IS just two, that's fine, but I'd like to know how I got three
activated in the first place!

Thanks for your help,

Arwen

Honestly, I think the activation thing tends to err on the side of caution.
But I couldn't say for sure, because I really don't know.
