Yes, you can. Here's how. First create the accounts on the Project
Application server as local accounts. "projectserver\myuser". You'll
need to add these accounts to MS Project also in the Resource pool and
assign the rights. It might be best to do this on the project server
itself. Once the user has been setup to you'll need to modify some
things on the remote client.
In Window XP it's under Control Panel -User Accounts - Advanced. Select
Manage Password's. Add the name of the Project server and
"projectserver\myuser" with the password to the list. What this does
is send that user information to the server instead of the local user
on the workstation.
This will allow you to use both Project Web access and the Project 2003
Client. Terminal services on the project server may also be an option.
I've used both and the work fine.

When you say "Windows Group Logon" do you mean "Windows Workgroup
Logon"?

If so, the answer is no if you want to use Windows Authenticated user
account,

But the answer is yes if you use a Project Server Authenticated user
account. But remember that you won't have access to WSS project sites
(Risks, Issues and Documents)

Good Luck

Hi,First Thanks for your help.
But I didn't know what is Resource pool ?

my machine name is "ensemble",and I create a windows user named "jufeng",and
then I create a name named ensemble\jufeng in the Project Web access and
assign the administrator's rights.

So I logon to the pwa using the account:ensemble\jufeng.
but It shows the below error:
You have entered an incorrect user name/password combination. (5002)

Hi, Your welcome for the help.

Ok, a little clarification. ensemble is the Project Server? If
so, are you logging into Ensemble as jufeng and launching Internet
explorer and going into PWA? If so, that should work. If you are
logging into your local pc "mymachine" then going to PWA you will get
an error. At least thats what I've ran into. The problem has to do with
Trusted sites and IE. By default IE will send the local user account
"mymachine\myuser" to PWA when you go there. If you have Windows XP
there is a tech note on microsoft but it's not hard to do. Go to User
accounts under control panel. Click advanced and "manage passwords".
Add an entry for ensemble wth the id ensemble\jufeng. Set the password
and navigate to PWA. XP should automatically log you on to PWA.
