Can I make an object (image) appear on mouseover of another objec.

I'm trying to create a walkthrough of my work which will allow people to
click on staff areas to see names and photos of staff who are there. In one
staff room there are several cubes (i.e. not enough room to put the photos
all onto the page). I was wondering if there was a way to make an image
appear somewhere else on that slide as I mouseover or click the names. I
know this can be done through web-programming, but I'm hoping it can be done
on powerpoint too, since I don't really remember much about how to divide up
an image into separate links. Is this at all possible or do I just have to
create a new slide for every single person? Please help. Thanks.
