I am trying to change the background color of a Word document. I want to
make this the default color , is this possible?...

I have changed the background color of my Word page to light yellow. I am
trying to set this as the default color, or in someother way keep each page
the same yellow color, for increased visibility. Thank you, Tom

You want all pages to have a light yellow background? Of every document you
create, or just the current document?

But I still don't understand where 'default' comes in ...

Sorry, I may be asking the question incorrectly. I use the Word program for
writing. I find the background color of light yellow to be easier on my
eyes, when it comes to contrast. I want this light color to be the color of
the background in all of the pages I use for writing. I would like to change
to the white background on special projects. Is there a way I can do
this?..Thank you, Tom

yes, for all intents and purposes, I want to make all pages in my word pages
a light yellow background. I want to be able to change back to white when
necessary, but for most of my work I want there to be a light yellow
background. Thnk you, Tom.

This is easily done and will not affect the color of the printed page.
Right-click on your desktop and choose Properties (or use Start | Settings |
Control Panel | Display). On the Appearance tab, change the "Window" color
to one you like. I use a nice ivory myself, and it is easier on the eyes. I
have saved this as a custom color scheme so that it is easy to switch back
to Windows Standard (with white Window color) when I want to take screen
shots for my Web site.
