Can I open an ami pro document in office xp?

Have you tried to open it in Word? (I don't use Ami so I can test it.)

Yes I have and I have even gone in under tools and options and confirm a
conversion on open and it does not list ami pro as a file type.

In addition to JoAnn's reply, some of the .sam images may not convert. If they do not
and they are important to you, send the file to me and I will extract the images. I
still have Ami Pro... It was a great program.

I think it's time for a new .sig file - "Google is your friend!"

I used AmiPro way back in '92.. I think that it is still the only frame
based word processor ever.. I never kept it because I had MS Office,
WordPerfect 7 Suite and Lotus Smartsuite (WordPro version) installed..
WordPro could open anything at all, so AmiPro was dumped.. I have fond
memories though.. such a soft, easy program to use..

I do believe that Irfanview can open AmiPro documents, and they may even be
editable.. it is so long since I had a .sam document..

Thanks Jo Ann I will look at the site. I was so frustrated and of course had
a deadline so I just loaded ami pro and then changed the documents to word
and went from there. When I started working with ami pro again I remember why
I liked it so much. Thanks for all your help

Thanks Mary, I was so frustated that I just loaded ami pro and changed to
documents to word and went from there. When I started using ami pro I
remember why I liked it so much it was and is a great program and so easy to
use. That must be the problem it is easy to use. Thanks for your help.

Problems are more likely to occur when you are under the gun. :)
