Can I put Excel 2000 on a computer with XP?

I've recently bought a new computer with Windows XP.
Can I install Excell 2000?

discs that my OEM loaded on my old PC, I'm being told that "when your old PC
dies, your Office 2000 license dies with it." Does that sound fair and
equitable to you?
