Can I put picture frame holders into a word document?

using word 2003, I want to create a template that has predefined places for
pictures to be inserted and autosized to the frame.

Insert the picture in line, then Ctrl+E will horizontally centre it.
Vertical centering is a cell property from the table properties dialog.
Horizontal centering can also be set from the table property of the table
properties dialog.
