Just out of interest why does it appear that the rules are different if you
buy it separately from when you actually bought the kit ?
Is it just related to how much I paid ? (ie more than if I got it bundled
with the kit)

set, not download) for my laptop (expensive !). Will I be able to
install
this on new kit, or is it unique to each machine, like the operating

computer dies, you cannot use the license on another computer. I believe it
could be used as a qualifying product for an upgrade version on another
computer though. (Please note some hesitancy on my part about this. I'm not
100% sure about that. Maybe 75%.)
