How about using PowerPoint?

And you need to make sure that your computer produces the type of DVD that
your home DVD player can read.

i wanted to use power point but i didn't see an option like 'save as dvd'. so
would i use the regular extension ppp, or do you think maybe pps? haven't
tried anything yet. can't record on this computer. wanted to get it together
over the weekend and do it at work on monday.

You need to know what the DVD player can do first. Just because the computer
can create a file, doesn't mean the player will know what to do with it. I
don't suppose you know the make and model of your work DVD player?

I wouldn't bet on anything. You would need to look up the specs on the
player top be certain. (My DVD player won't read anything I can make on my
husband's computer. The player is 7 years old, the computer is 2 yrs old.

You could try for a .vcd format (I think that's the format.) What software
came with your computer? I'm talking about video stuff, not Office.

PowerPoint is the worst thing you could use to create a DVD with.

If you're running Windows XP, use Move Maker (or even Photo Story) to create
the video. Then you need to use DVD-authoring software to create the DVD.
That software should convert your video to the appropriate type (MPEG2) for
DVD when you import it. Create your menu and whatever else, and you're done.

Some DVD-authoring software will let you put the pictures in it -- that
would save you from having to create the movie from the pictures in Movie
Maker/Photo Story.

Movie Maker is a free download for Windows XP. You can download it from the
Microsoft site. It also comes with Windows XP SP2, so if you've installed
that service pack, you already have Movie Maker.

i have ArcSoft Software Suite. There's a program there called video
impression 1.7. it gives me save extension options such as avi, mov, mpg,
asf, vpf, exe and MPEG-VCD (north America).

Other than that i just have the basic stuff windows movie maker, windows
media player, real player and InterVideo WinDVD.
