Can I retrieve Outlook emails and address book after doing a clea.

I upgraded a 98' computer to XP...didn't back anything up except my
documents. Now, after a clean install, all programs and outlook is gone. I am
only concerned with Outlook. Is there a way to get the emails and address
book back?

Also, the programs appear to still be on the computer under Program Files,
but are not on the start menu. How can I put them back on the start menu?

If you did a clean install - sorry! It's all gone. However - I'm a bit
baffled as to how you did a clean install and yet all your programs seem to
be on the HDD. That is not the hallmark of a clean install, unless you
inadvertantly created a new partition and installed XP on that. If the
latter, then there is hope. What shows up in My Computer?

If you did a clean install, nothing you had before should still be on your
system. However, since you say you can still see old programs under Program
Files, it doesn't sound like you did a clean install at all.

Had you done an upgrade install, all of your old programs would have
transferred. Now you'll have to reinstall anything missing. The old
Outlook files may be under C:\Windows\Local Settings or
C:\Windows\Application Data. Search those folder trees for files ending in
".pst".
