Is there a way I can keep past appointments? Whenever I look back
beyond the IMMEDIATE past, appointments are gone. How can I
keep/retrieve past appointments?

The Outlook calendar keeps everything until you delete it, so perhaps you
have autoarchive enabled. Right-click the Calendar folder, choose
Properties, and select the AutoArchive tab. Disable autoarchiving.
