Can I run Outlook 2003 as a background process?

Hi, I'm new to Outlook and i can't figure out how it can be launched
automatically when i log in Windows (like MSN Messenger does) and i can't
find either how it can be run as a background process (again like MSN
Messenger does) so i get notified about new messages, alerts, appointments
and etc. without actually to have the program open as a foreground process.
It's annoying when i forget to launch outlook and than after the launch i
find that i had a message hours ago or that i have a task overdue. Anyone can
help? I tried books on Office, Internet and found no answer. I read that a
guy had problems stopping Outlook after shutting the application, in my case
that's what i need, running it all the time much like MSN Messeger runs.

Thanks for the tip with the startup folder. It was usefull ;-)

Why I want to run outlook as a background process? there are several reasons:
1.i don't want a lot of tabs on my task bar sometimes i easily have 15 tabs
open and i don't group them, having outlook there is a tab more.
2.the question of use of ressources. I suppose running process in a
background is a better solution for using them.
3.if i or someone else eventually closes outlook the program should be
reopened
4.it's a computer program, right? so it can be programed to do what i want
and not only what i know.

Probably these are not the most conviencing arguments but still knowing that
what i want is possible drives me crazy and the open tab on the task bar
makes me nervous, coz when i work on something i want to see what i actually
work with and not something that is supposed to be a background application.
