Can I run Outlook from Office 2000 Professional inVista Home Prem.

Just purchased a new computer with Vista Home Premium. I have loaded my
Office 2000 Professional and all parts of Office work Ok except for Outlook.
When trying to send an email I get a message "An error occured while
attempting to open Windows Address Book. Unable to find the WAB DLL.
I have tried re-installing and repairs but keep getting the same message.

Known issue with Outlook 2002 and earlier. Outlook versions prior to 2003
are not compatible with Vista.

This is the first time I have used this service and thank you for the speed
of reply. Having followed through on the links I think I should use Vista's
Mail and Calendar programs instead.

If you change Outlook 2000 to use Corporate/Workgroup mode, it should work
OK on Vista.

Hi Hal
I'm to understand that none of the programs within Office 2000 Pro will work
with Vista Business or Vista Ultimate? Recommend Office 2003 or 2007
version. Thank you.

Office 2000 products other than Outlook should work in Vista (although I
haven't tried them) and there's indication that if you install Outlook 2000
in Corporate/Workgroup mode that it, too, will work on Vista.

Thnx Brian

think decision has been made to get either office 2003 or 2007 to put on new
computer with Vista once computer is purchased just to ensure a totally clean
setup. We have couple other issues like Quickbooks 2004 Mfg & Wholesale to
work with Vista and then getting our MSQL server with a specific program to
be set up to work with Vista.
Appreciate the info.
