Can I send messages through my tasks menu?

I have tried to alert my other colleagues of student test assessment that are
coming up. I've tried to use the task feature in XP to perform this. I am
not sure that the feature will work or that my collegues will get their
messages in the e-mail portion of their boxes. If I set up an e-mail name at
the lower portion of the task feature menu with the e-mail name of the
colleague and write-in a title the "contacts" / "catagories", will it work?

Tasks are the wrong feature to use for this. Use an Appointment item for
the dates when the tests are scheduled and "invite" the instructors to the
event. Put in the details of what test is due on that date, the subject for
the test and invite the appropriate instructors who are involved in the
test.

Hello Milly!

I use the "Task" display to help me keep in touch with the tasks that I have
during the day. I thought that happenstance I could send a message to my
fellow colleagues with the informational tasks that I am performing.

I realize the wonderful information that you sent to me is true and I do use
the "Appointment" command to create such events. But what I am doing is for
notification purposes only and not to invite any one per se to a meeting.
The information would provide them with the task information needed and also
provide me with notice. Any thoughts? Thank you.
