Can I send Reminders sent via email and have them show up in outlo

I would like to send my boss an email that has a reminder to follow up with a
customer that will automatically put the reminder in his calendar. I tried
flagging it and adding a reminder, it did not put that into the Outlook
calendar.

you'd need to send a meeting request to add it to his calendar.
