Can i set text to change color depeding on the backgroud color

I am making a presentation and want the color of the text to change depending
on the background color so it is easier to read.

Matt,

Just browse through some of the templates that come with powerpoint. Most of
them are set up so that the text always has enough contrast with the
background in question.
