Can I setup a TOC to update programatically?

Instead of manually hitting the F9 key to update a Table of Contents page
numbers, is there a way to automatically set this up?

I would hope to write some VBScript code to do this, but am not sure if it
is possible.

Uhm....
Automatically set it up to update when?
When your pagination changes? When you type something? When you delete
something? Every 10 minutes?

It is realtively easy to set Word to update fields when it prints. Would
that do what you want? It is a print option.
