I am looking at a utulity like a button that can switch on or off the
animation during the runtime of a PPT show - so that the user has the option
of viewing the slide show with or without animation.
Please respond to my company email- (e-mail address removed)

You might want to try out duplicating an additional slide each. Giving an
example, lets say you have 5+1(introduction/title) slides, duplicate the
slides(except the introduction/title slide) so that you have 10 slides in
total. The first 5 involves the ones without animation, while the last 5
involves the ones with animation. Then, add at an action button that allows
you to choose whether to jump to the animated or the one without animations.

You can then set 'on/off animations' within the slides. And for example, if
you are in slide 2, you can have a hyperlink that allows users to jump to
slide 7 to off the animations.

In addtion, set the slide show to kiosk mode to prevent users from going to
other slides directly. You can do so by clicking Slide Show > Set Up Show.
Then, click View by kiosk mode.

Hi,

I understand your solution, however the size of the file becomes too bulky.
Is there any other workaround e.g. create a custom button with scripting or
maybe add macros : However someone has to give me the code and instructions

Hmmm... I was hoping for some default setting that would literally switch
animation on/off to accomodate different audiences or presenters... Right
now, I am contemplating duplicating the files and going thru every slide in
the duplicates to remove all animation effects. A tad laborious!
I like to use animation to "build" the story, and take good advantage of it
when presenting - however, most senior executives that I build material for
are too impatient to use it! It would be useful to have the option to
"switch-off" animation, without having to reset each chart... right?

Hi Bill,

I did the following, but did not get the desired results.
Please see the steps I did, maybe I am missing something here ...

I opened the existing PPT with animations.
I created a macro (copied from the link you provided).
I created a custom action button.
I selected run macro on mouse click and mouse over for this button.
I saved the file.
I ran the slide show.
Even though I had not brought my mouse pointer any closer to the button, the
animation were already stopped apart from the animations created on the
master slide.
Even after clicking the same state ie no animation is present.

REQUIRED:
A macro to be inserted on a button.
When the button is pressed, the animation is switched off.
If button is not pressed, the animation continues.
