Can I Turn Off Automatic Email in Outlook?

M

mtbcpa

I would like to simply get Outlook 2007 to get email and RSS feeds
once or twice a day, instead of "as it comes". I am just too consumed
with emails and they are constantly rolling in. I would like Outlook
to just automatically check once in the afternoon, and then I can deal
with them then.

I am in an exchange server environment, and I am working in cache
mode. I suppose I could simply work offline, and then once in a while
go online, and then go offline again. Is there a better solution? I
couldn't find it.

Thanks!

Simply stay in Offline mode and press the Send/Receive button when you are
ready to receive mail.

I believe you can go to the tools menu and click on options. In the options
window, click on the mail setup tab. In the send/receive section, click on
the send/recieve button. At the bottom of that window, there's a section
that says 'When outlook is offline'... there are two checkboxes. The second
one says 'schedule an automatic send/recieve every ... (you fill in) minutes.

Good idea. Anyway to automate that?- Hide quoted text -

Thanks! It would be great if I could specify a time, instead of an
interval. I appreciate your help though.

There is no way to specify a time.
