Can I turn off the internet during a download?

I have dial up.. It is taking forever to receive a download, can I log off
the internet and still contnue to receive the download or will it terminate?

newsgroup. Please next time post in a group appropriate for your question.

That said, your download will terminate if you log off the Internet.

Isn't it funny how the vast majority of REALLY STUPID questions come from
the CDO? (And questions that are completely off-group as well!)

Hi Wolff,

If your question is can you restart the download at
a point where you left off previously then the answer is 'maybe',
based generally on what site and what download is controlling.

Some parts of the Microsoft update service are starting to
provide that service and there are 3rd party update services
and also 3rd party download helpers that you can add to
Internet Explorer that allow you to 'resume' a download.
