can I turn off the memory carry-over from previously typed cells

M

I don't want Excel to remember what I typed in previous cells and fill it in
automatically. I don't want any memory help at all. I want it to only put
what I actually type.

1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2. On the Edit tab, select or clear the Enable AutoComplete for cell values
check box to turn automatic completion of cell entries on or off.

Hope this helps and if it does, please vote for this post.

It seems though that some people think it is a voting system to some future
reward, maybe a cake?

Hello everyone!

Good one Peo... hehehe. I know I won't be getting a cake or anything like a
reward. Clicking on the Yes / No buttons will make this board more useful
because if someone else is having the same trouble as you are, it's easier to
scan for answered posts.

I have noticed that the "was-this-helpful-survey" (that's why I just
prefered to call it "voting") was very underused.

Of course, if you want to send a cake when a post is helpful, then go ahead.

Well, to wrap up things, I will change my signature to:

Hope this helps; if it DOESN'T click on NO in the post rating buttons below.

Thanks for the update and explanation Mexage.

Most of us don't use the CDO discussion site.

Instead prefer a news reader like OE or Forte Agent as I use.

Was not aware of the "did this help" feature at CDO.
