Can I use a template to amend several documents at the same time?

I have several hundred word documents all with the same header and footer
information. I want to change the information in the footer. Is there a way
to use a template to change the information in all the documents at the same
time or do I have to amend each and every document separately?

I don't think so. BTW it would be good to tell us what version of
Office you are using.

I would guess that you may be able to use a macro or a search and
replace function to make it easier.

I have recently upgraded to 2007, but it's more the principal of HOW TO do
it, regardless of which version I'm using.

I will do some more research as to how to go about it.
