Can my optimism be sustained ?

On a recent trip to USA (I'm Australian) I learnt a new definition of
"Optimism" : Throw a leaf into the Grand Canyon and wait for the echo.

My attempts to communicate with Microsoft about Groove have been like
waiting for that echo. Perhaps someone can amplify:

1 Introduced to Groove through MS Office 2007 Beta. Just what I'm looking
for self-paced leaning groups whose members are geographically spread around
South East Asia. Setting up a group is less than intuitive, however.
http://www.groove.net/home/index.cfm lists worked-up group solutions for
various kinds of teams ... however none of them work in the Beta 2007. My
question, thrice repeated, through that web-master was for any workarounds or
intentions, but received no answer.

2 I was so excited about the Groove possibilities that I pressed the "Find
out about becoming a Partner" etc. Again. No answer

My suggestion would be to download the Groove client and join a space(s)
with other members in it. Quite a few times, answers about Groove may be
obtained by other Groove users rather than GN/MSFT itself!

Hi Kim,
in case the other members are using groove 3.1 or even older, you won't be
able to invite or even find them.
MS Groove 2007 is not downstream compatibel. It took me a whole weekend to
figure how to deal with this problem -> everybody in your group hat to
upgrade to 2007 beta!!!

Thanks, Yeti.

On http://www.groove.net/solutions/index.cfm?view=1 there's a number of
ready made set-up solutions for the pre 2007 Groove. I copy some of them
below:

Business Management
Incident Management
Logistics
Operations
Sales & Marketing
Team Coordination

The story that goes with those "free" tools is: "The Rapid Solutions
Exchange is a collection of Groove Virtual Office workspace templates
containing Groove Forms tool solutions. A wide range of templates, targeted
at vertical business markets or horizontal business functions, are available
for immediate download and use. These solutions are available free of charge
and can be used as-is or quickly customized by users and Groove Forms
designers."

None of them seem to work in 2007. Have you used any of them pre-2007 ?
The developer behind Groove is said to by Ray Ozzie who's now with Gates at
Microsoft. The IT press here says he'll be the next Microsoft Chief. How
can one get to him to sort out how the original and 2007 Groove will be made
compatible ?

Any ideas ?
