Can not access word documents

This has been going on for almost a week. Word did not open so I went to
your site and found this

where I was able to get word to open. Now I can not open documents. I
tried the suggestion for word moving slowly but it did not work. Do you have
any other suggestions?

Do you get an error message when you try to open documents? Please quote it

no, it is just stuck. it won't do anything. i go to file, then to open, and
i choose the document and it does nothing (freezes the whole word program).
